The publishing world has changed tremendously. What we call a book is no longer just ink on paper. A book is a container of ideas, and that container takes on many forms. We’ve enjoyed audio recordings of books for decades. Now with the onset of digital books we can read ideas on our phones, computers and any of an assortment of digital readers. Some adults may hesitate to embrace digital readers as “real” books, but for children of high school age and younger, a digital reader is all that they know as a book.
As an author you can’t afford to ignore the changes in publishing. Instead of being afraid or overwhelmed by the changes, learn about them, utilize them, and you will prosper from them.
