You have found your way here. That tells me something. You are either writing a book, thinking about writing a book, or trying to figure out how to publish the one you wrote.

On this site you’ll find help in many forms. Resources, tips, and announcements of classes and other events for aspiring authors and self-publishers.

Get started by signing up for the occasional publishing tips that you’ll receive in your email. The signup box is on your left.

Then check out the Cool Websites for Writers on the right. I’ve listed websites that offer many types of help to aspiring writers. Some include a forum for exchanging ideas with other writers, even critiquing services. Others give you tips, advice and live chats. Enjoy exploring them and come back frequently to see which ones I’ve added.

The publishing world has changed tremendously.  What we call a book is no longer just ink on paper. A book is a container of ideas, and that container takes on many forms. We’ve enjoyed audio recordings of books for decades. Now with the onset of digital books we can read ideas on our phones, computers and any of an assortment of digital readers. Some adults may hesitate to embrace digital readers as “real” books, but for children of high school age and younger, a digital reader is all that they know as a book.

As an author you can’t afford to ignore the changes in publishing. Instead of being afraid or overwhelmed by the changes, learn about them, utilize them, and you will prosper from them.
