  1. Thanks for the reminder. This post reminds me of when I was in Toastmasters and we had the word of the day. I plan on playing with these, and thanks to you, I will be confident that I am using them correctly.

    • Hi Linda.

We all need reminding of these culprits. I’m glad that Grammar Net made this infographic available.

Thanks for posting this. It is a wonderful reminder. There are words that I have misused and some I haven’t used. LOL

    • Hi Roz,

You’re welcome. It’s easy to get tripped up by words like these that are used incorrectly over and over. We lose sight of the correct meanings until they are called back to our attention.

  3. Hi Flora
    thanks for the reply.
FYI. I am currently living in France and today I am attending a lecture sponsored by the American Women’s Group of Montpellier. It’s a group that meets in the South of France. Today’s lecture is on Writing Your Own Book. There’s certain to be women in the meeting that could use your services. Hope it’s ok if I refer them to your http://www.florabrown.com site.
BTW I am friends with your friend Shirley in New Jersey.

    • Hi Roz,

I’m so fascinated with your adventures in France. Look for an email from me to get more details.

Thank you in advance for sharing my services with any who can benefit.

  4. Hi Flora,
Thanks for this post. Yep, I was thinking I was sooo good, then precocious got me!

  5. I’m embarrassed to say that I didn’t really know what “moot” meant. Don’t tell anyone that I’m a lawyer and should know this one!! Great list. I will be more careful with these words thanks to you.

    • Hi Galen,

Sh-h-h! Your secret is safe with me. Not to worry. You’re not alone. Everyone who reads that list comes up short on at least one of the words.
